Goulash

This is a dish I grew up eating and is a perfect comfort food. Great for those chilly evenings when a warm meal is needed. Usually served with buttered bread, milk, and little dessert.

Goulash
  •  1 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cans tomato sauce
  • 1 can petite diced tomatoes (undrained)
  • 1-2 Tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 Tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 Tablespoon season salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • splash or 2 of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 dried bay leaf
  • 1 1/2 cup elbow macaroni (uncooked)

Directions:

Brown gr beef, onion, and garlic until beef is cook through and onions are translucent

Stir in the remaining ingredients except macaroni.  Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat.

Add macaroni and stir.  Cover and simmer over low heat stirring occasionally until pasta is tender, about 20 minutes.  Remove bay leaf before serving.
