This is a dish I grew up eating and is a perfect comfort food. Great for those chilly evenings when a warm meal is needed. Usually served with buttered bread, milk, and little dessert.
Goulash
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 2 cans tomato sauce
- 1 can petite diced tomatoes (undrained)
- 1-2 Tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 Tablespoon dried basil
- 1 Tablespoon dried oregano
- 1/2 Tablespoon season salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- splash or 2 of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 dried bay leaf
- 1 1/2 cup elbow macaroni (uncooked)
Directions:
Brown gr beef, onion, and garlic until beef is cook through and onions are translucent
Stir in the remaining ingredients except macaroni. Bring mixture to a boil over medium heat.
Add macaroni and stir. Cover and simmer over low heat stirring occasionally until pasta is tender, about 20 minutes. Remove bay leaf before serving.
